In this post I would like to explain the reason for this project and my hopes and wishes for its future.
As a 40k fan for a number of years I have become frustrated with the lack of supporting structure for 40k battles and scenery, specifically logistics and supply chain. Furthermore, as I have played a number of games and mods I have realised that porting 40k vehicles and characters is not enough to create a truly immersive experience.
I have started 3d modelling and want to give people things they can use to better dress scenes and mods. When you walk into a house it shouldn’t be empty rooms but unmade beds and kitchen furniture. What is more these things should still have a Grim Dark 40k feel. But one with a human touch. Just because it is Grim Dark doesn’t mean the human spirit has been snuffed out.
Not every world in 40k is a hive world, and indeed, Civilised planets and Agri and Garden planets offer a generally more rural, less hectic and more serene lifestyle. These planets have a similar technology level to today but to varying degrees the citizens freedoms are more limited, including very limited personal travel opportunity’s, where personal transport such as cars is uncommon and instead the citizens are provided with mass transport solutions. This situation, similar to the Soviet Union helps to keep the masses under the control of Imperial Rule.
To this end I intend to create a collection of lifestyle assets that will help to give a 40k flavour to maps and scenes in games and video. Used within a Civilised or Agri-world context these assets should allow map makers to modify existing maps with more Imperial Items in urban and industrial areas and less in rural areas.

My hope is that others will contribute to this project, but that it will remain Open Source, meaning any non-commercial uses are welcomed.
If you would like to contribute with models or concept art let me know.

Many thanks to Kid Kyoto for this article https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Civilian_vehicles_in_40k which has been inspiration for much of my thinking from a vehicle point of view. Also to https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Administratum for their light hearted reflections on the administratum.
I will endeavour to create props which would fit in best to this agri-world or civilised world environment as these seem to best fit the opportunities presented by games like Squad and Arma3.
When I have completed categorising content I will write another post explaining the rationale for this.
While I have high hopes for this project, I can make no promises in terms of the level of content or speed of delivery as I have a family and 2 small children to think about.
